Within a span of few weeks or months, depending upon the severity of the condition partial or all hairs are lost. It is generally caused by vitamin A overdose, extreme fever, the stress of general anesthesia, acute or severe injury, a side-effect of medications like Accutane or high emotional stress. Telogen effluvium cannot be diagnosed using medical test, it can be diagnosed by close and careful examination or any medical history. This condition usually ends on its own and the hair begins to regrow and is recovered in a span of a few months or a year. Necessary precautions are recommended to slow down the effect of this disorder.

Alopecia Areata

This disorder not only affect adult, but kids are also affected by this too. In this disorder, the hair on the scalp of children is lost in the form of smooth circular or oval patches. This disorder leads to loss of hair within a span of few days with bald patterns not inflamed. In alopecia areata, the immune system of children as an inflammatory action mistakenly attacks the cells of hair follicles and causes them to fall. It is very rare in children, one out of every thousand suffer from this disorder. There is no diagnostic test for this disorder; it can be diagnosed by examination of the scalp. Hair Shaft Trauma

Physical stress to the hair on the scalp of children is known as hair shaft trauma. It is a common cause of hair loss in children. Consistent pulling of hair may cause hair shaft trauma.
